With My Head in the Clouds

The earth is something beautiful, but what's above it can sometimes be just as amazing. I snapped this pic in the clouds on my way home to Tennessee.

Doesn't this look like the perfect place to take an afternoon nap?

Etsy Find of the Week: Mr. T-Rex

Here is, yet again, another thing I absolutely adore.

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Those big chompers, those stubby arms. How much more hilarious could they be? Well, they just got funnier because Esty seller jonstich got the idea to put Mr. T's head on the body of a t-rex.

The most simple things are always the funniest.

This week's Etsy Find of the Week is this orginial pen and ink drawing titled, "Mr. T-Rex". The drawing is an archival print on 8.5 x 11 Canson Infinity Rag Photographique.

This week's Etsy find sales for
$14.00

Glee Gets 2012 Cast Makeover

Gleeks, get ready to weep.

2012 will bring new beginnings for the cast of Glee, with a nearly total cast makeover taking place in the Fall lineup. With the current cast finally playing their senior year of singing and dancing outcast, Glee creator Ryan Murphy plans to play senior year as a curtain call.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest's radio show Murphy said, "The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn't want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years. We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline."

Don't be too sad though. Teacher cast favs Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch will stay on to lead McKinley High's future Broadway stars and karaoke legends.
Who will be the next Rachel and Finn? Murphy doesn't know but he did add, "...I think finding those young unknown people and giving them an opportunity to break into the business and become stars is a really fun and exciting thing and is the spirit of the series."

Read the full article on Ryan Murphy's controversial plans to start over here.

Also, share your thoughts in the comments section on Murphy's plans to pull a cast switch-a-roo. Is it time for the current cast to move on, or can they keep making sweet music and big money as 2nd year seniors?

J.K. Rowling Announces Pottermore

Hello there possible Potter Maniacs.

Well, today I got quite a surprise after being away from the information super speedway for a week. J.K. Rowling, in all her Brit nobility, announced a gift to the (Potter) world.  A new website called, Pottermore got the web's spidey senses tingling. Pottermore, is a super awesome "series of illustrated environments", that comes off as a sort of confusing and random place where you can read extra details about the characters, play some games, and generally burn some time while waiting for J.K. to get with the program and start writing some stuff we can actually make a fuse about.

I'm not saying that I'm not excited about this, but it is a welcomed diversion being that the movie series is about to end and a mournful wail of sadness will be heard across the globe by Daniel Radcliffe boppers and Potterphiles.

With that said, thank you J.K. for giving me something extra to do after checking my Facebook page.

Pottermore.com lures us back into a false sense of Potter mania this October.

The Book of Mormon Takes All

Sister Act high steps their high notes in their Tony debut.
So, this Sunday I was super disappointed in myself for forgetting to DVR the Tony Awards. I couldn't wait to see clips of Daniel Radcliffe getting his dance on in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, the cast of Sister Act nunning it up to a beat, and most excitingly getting to see if the cast of Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark can get through a performance in one piece.

Daniel Radcliffe can't contain
 his jazz hands in
How to Succeed in Business
Without Really Trying.

Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark
attempts for the first
time a performance in the light.
Well, thank goodness there is this fabulous little website called,  YouTube.
That's where I found the clip that won me over. Andrew Rannells' performance of "I Believe" from The Book of Mormon was too funny and clever to..believe. You have to watch the clip to know what I'm talking about. After this, you won't want to see any other show on Broadway (Sorry Daniel).

Unfortunately, seeing this show live anytime soon will be tough if you hadn't already bought a ticket for it 3 or 4 months ago. My pals that work for some of the big Broadway ticketing services say that the show is SOLD OUT for
several months. That includes stand-by tickets. If you have any Broadway connections, tis would be the time to pull them.

The Book of Mormon took home the night's top honor, Best Musical. Get your tickets now, for Christmas...if you can wait that long.

Frodo Takes Primetime

It has been a while since we saw Elijah Wood do anything mainstream, but I don't think anyone expected this.

In his new Fox original comedy, Ryan (Frodo) is a man on the brink of suicide, when he becomes unlikely pals with a neighbor's dog. While everyone else sees Wilfred as an adorable neighborhood pup, Ryan sees Wilfred as an Australian man in a ratty dog costume.

I can't lie, I'm pretty geeked out about this. A storyline like this is so random and weird, that I can actually see it working. Think of it as an alternative to the typical tv comedy.

Wilfred premiers June 23rd on FX.

5 Fab Rompers for Summer

 Striped Knit Romper $10.80
Essential Jersey Romper $11.50

Floral One Shoulder Romper $22.90

Strapless Hibiscus Romper $16.90
Very Berry Sweetheart Romper $19.80

I have changed in many different ways since moving to New York. I'm a ton more cautious, I'm a bit more frugal at the grocery store and more obviously, I've become a lot more girly. It was only when I moved to NYC that I even started to recognize the invention of the dress as not just something in which to frown in as my mother took pictures of me on Easter but as something to actually be fun and fashionable in.

With a trove of dresses in my closest, I have moved on to skirts, scarfs and headbands with little bows on them. Yet, there is always that tomboy lurking deep down inside of me. And she still loves pants, shorts and Star Wars t-shirts. That's why ROMPERS is an everygirls life saver. It is sort of like a mohawk. Business on top and party on the bottom...or something like that.

Check out these 5 fab, inexpensive (because you know I'm on an NYC budget) rompers from Forever 21.

Colin Farrell Does the Vampire Thing

I've never been much of a Colin Farrell fan, but I don't even think a blind person could deny his hotness in his new summer vampire flick, Fright Night. In the film Farrell plays the hot new vamp next door. Of course, no one expects him of his fang-a-licious secret except a couple of nosey teens played by Anton Yelchin (Star Trek 2009) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse aka McLovin (Superbad).

If the title and concept of Fright Night sounds familiar, you may have seen the original 1985 version starring Chris Sarandon and Roddy McDowall (I have no clue who these dudes are).

Fright Night draws blood and audiences this August.
